IF YOUR NOT SURE IF YOU HAVE  A LONG OR SHORT WATER PUMP  YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PLACE ALL FOUR FINGERS BETWEEN THE BACK OF A LONG WATER PUMP AND THE TIMING COVER. THIS CANNOT BE DONE WITH A SHORT STYLE PUMP. SHORT WATER PUMPS REST NEARLY AGAINST THE TIMING COVER, WHERE THE LONG HAS A GOOD INCH OR 25mm BETWEEN THE TIMING COVER AND BACK OF THE PUMP.
